The Australian Army has been fined more than $200,000 over the death of a teenager from a peanut allergy at a cadets' school camp in May 2007. Nathan Francis, 13, was a year nine student at Scotch College.

WASHINGTON -- Pilgrim's Pride Corp., a Mount Pleasant, Texas, establishment, is recalling approximately 608,188 pounds of frozen poultry products because they may contain the undeclared allergens milk, soy, and wheat, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

Ever since she was an infant, Reagan Roberts could not tolerate being anywhere near cow's milk. A mere sip would leave her vomiting and gasping for breath. If she were even touched by someone with milk on their hands, she would break out in hives and a bright red rash.

VANCOUVER -- The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says it will investigate The Vancouver Sun’s findings of mislabelled retail fish products in Metro Vancouver based on DNA testing. Alison Pinsent, a national compliance manager with CFIA, said in an interview from Ottawa that her office is responsible for enforcing food labelling laws and routinely acts on complaints.

Barbara Freeman was looking after their six-month-old daughter instead of dining with her husband of 18 months when he collapsed in a restaurant and later died after eating a tomato canape. Coroner Murray Jamiesen yesterday confirmed the cause of Mr Freeman's death as an anaphylactic reaction.

A 38-year-old food allergy sufferer died after a severe reaction apparently caused by something he ate or drank in a South Auckland restaurant, the Auckland coroner has found. However, exactly what triggered the anaphylactic shock that resulted in Grant Freeman, of Stanmore Bay, suffering heart failure and brain damage, from which he died two days after the meal, remains a puzzle.

Of all the holiday feasts our family has each year, Christmas is my absolute favorite.  Sure the turkey and stuffing are wonderful during Thanksgiving, but nothing can beat the wonderful sweets that are available during Christmas season.  Chocolate-dipped pretzels, sugar cookies with icing and sprinkles, peppermint bark, homemade fudge… Chocolate chip cookies are a staple at our house during the holidays
