Frisia Dairy and Creamery of Tenino, Wash., located about 15 miles southeast of Olympia, has recalled its retail raw milk products because they may be contiminated with E. coli. There have been no reported illnesses.

In Nov. 2011, raw milk produced by Cozy Vale Creamery in Tenino, Washington, sickened at least three children and environmental swabs found E. coli O157 at the dairy. Today, the owner and armchair epidemiologist says the publicity and lawsuit for making people barf is ruining his business and it’s "hanging on by it's fingernails." Duh.

Australia still has an egg problem.

So much so we made up a table of raw-egg related outbreaks in Australia (thanks Gonzalo and Sol).

A month after 22 were sickened at a popular Canberra café from raw egg in mayonnaise, it now appears some sort of raw egg thingy is responsible for up to 19 illnesses and possibly one death linked to a Ballarat pizza joint.

In May 2009, diarrhea and fever developed in 8 persons living in southwestern France one day after they ate a homemade tiramisu prepared with raw eggs. Fecal analysis was performed on samples from 5 of the 8 persons. French investigators also cultured a sample from the tiramisu.

Two people have died in a Sydney hospital after eating death cap mushrooms.

A third person is still being treated at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, a spokeswoman says.
