    ST. LOUIS -- Monsanto Company announced that it filed suit yesterday in federal court in St. Louis against E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company and its wholly owned subsidiary, Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., to prevent unlawful use of Monsanto's proprietary Roundup Ready(R) herbicide tolerant technologies in soybeans and corn.

    We've all heard the advice: WASH YOUR HANDS. President Obama's said it. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has said it. The CDC has said it. Handwashing properly, as my colleague Jennifer Huget wrote, is one way to try to curb the spread of unwanted viruses.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A proposal that supports owners' use of raw milk for personal consumption in Tennessee is headed to the governor for his consideration. The measure sponsored by Republican Sen. Mike Faulk of Church Hill was unanimously approved Monday evening. The companion bill passed the House last week.
