    A list of to-dos hangs on the wall — scrape granita, peel potatoes, cut red velvet cake. The kitchen starts cranking. Pale ales are popped and downed. Potatoes are mashed with white chocolate. Hazelnuts toasted and peeled.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Hermitage Hotel has afternoon tea in the grand lobby. Down-filled duvets (that's a fancy word for comforters). A presidential suite with 2,000 square feet. And a really nice toilet. So nice, in fact, that it's been voted (drum roll please) America's best restroom.

    Wolfgang Puck is being sued over a restaurant bathroom -- not because a woman claims it was covered in "urine and feces" -- but because someone allegedly ripped her off the crapper while she was in mid-squat.

    Tiny particles could become a huge weapon in food safety, according to researchers at the University of Missouri. They have discovered that zinc oxide nanoparticles inhibit the growth of E. coli O157, a source of foodborne illness, as well as two fungi that affect fruit.

    SANTA CLARITA, Calif. -- The FBI is investigating the contamination of bottled water at a school in Southern California. Twelve students at Mesa Junior High School in Santa Clarita complained of headaches, nausea and dizziness after drinking water from a vending machine. It appeared to contain a "bleach-like substance."

    A father and mother in Washington state are outraged after their 5-year-old son was sent home from school, allegedly forced to carry a package of human feces along with an embarrassing note from his kindergarten teacher. "This little turd was on the floor in my room," said the note from Susan Graham, an instructor at Apple Valley Elementary School in Yakima, Wash.
