    The investigation continues after a young couple alleged finding a dead rodent in a bag of chips. According to their lawyer, Donald Morris, barrister and solicitor with Kirkland, Murphy and Kennedy in Smiths Falls, on Jan. 3, Ben Stoddard went to the Queen Street Convenience store in Smiths Falls and purchased a large sized bag of Miss Vickie's Salt and Vinegar Chips.

    Police are investigating allegations of food contamination at a crown court in east London after judges' lunches at Snaresbrook Crown Court were allegedly spiked with urine. The Sun newspaper said it was feared someone with a grudge against the justice system had launched a revenge campaign. Traces of urine were believed to have been found in soups, salads and sandwiches.

    I was pushing a cart full of groceries to the end of the parking lot before loading up the bike trailer when a wheel suddenly locked and I stopped. A bemused shopping cart gatherer said, “You can’t take shopping carts off the property.”

    An unidentified Scrooge poisoned visitors to two of Berlin's popular Christmas markets with an offer of tiny bottles of liquor that were laced with vomit-inducing chemicals, police said on Friday. The suspect, who was in his mid-40s, hit two of the traditional holiday fairs on Thursday and at the first, spoke to two foreign students, a man and a woman in their mid-20s, in English.

    If cat poop coffee is just too passé, then coffee made from beans that have passed through the digestive tract of the rare South American Jacu bird may be for you. The bird apparently eats only the best, ripest Arabica berries and excretes the beans in piles under the coffee trees, which are then collected, washed, dried and roasted in the usual way.

    A UK man who found a tooth - complete with fillings - in a tub of supermarket brand yogurt was given a 68p (US$1.05) refund when he took it back to the store to complain. David Casey, from Bedworth, about 163km northwest of London, said he bit down on what he thought was a piece of fudge in the Tesco's Devonshire-style fudge yogurt, only to find it was a tooth.

    When Dani was pregnant she didn't share any odd food cravings with me. She may have had them, but the only thing she sent me out for was Kraft cheese slices. I brought home a 36 pack and she went through them in a few hours. Pretty mundane when compared to Alison Brierley of Harrogate, North Yorkshire (that's in the UK).

    A container of vomit was found on a shelf at an East Bluff quicky mart in Illinois. The Peoria City/County Health Department noted in an Oct. 10 report, "A carton containing human vomit was stored on a crate by a display cooler."

    Madina Najmeddine considers chicken wings to be her guilty pleasure, but when she prepared a batch of Pinty's Honey Garlic Wings on Tuesday, she got much more than she bargained for. "My initial reaction was 'Oh my god!,' and my second reaction was 'I'm going to be sick,'" Najmeddine said.
