    Preliminary epidemiology regarding the ongoing outbreak of illness from Salmonella Saintpaul in people who had eaten alfalfa sprouts was shared with the supplier of the seeds associated with illness.

    Pasta & Co of Seattle, WA is recalling their Chinese Vermicelli Salad and Pot Sticker Salad, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The products were manufactured using chili oil recalled by Union International Food Co. because it may be contaminated with Salmonella.

    CONCORD, N.H. -- A mixer used to make pudding was the source of salmonella that sickened children at a camp in Madison, N.H., this month, health officials said. The Stone Environmental Camp voluntarily closed last week because of cases of salmonella diagnosed in camp attendees.

    On April 26, 2009, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended that consumers not eat raw alfalfa sprouts, including sprout blends containing alfalfa sprouts, until further notice because the product has been linked to Salmonella serotype Saintpaul contamination.

    The Food and Drug Administration is recommending consumers not eat raw alfalfa sprouts until further notice because the popular crunchy greens have been linked to a salmonella saintpaul outbreak in six states. Officials believe infected seeds, sold nationwide, are the source of the outbreak. The warning does not include bean and other types of sprouts.
