    During the evening of Thursday, June 18, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment urged Coloradans not to eat raw Nestle Toll House cookie dough because of possible contamination with E. coli O157:H7.

    WASHINGTON -- JBS Swift Beef Company, a Greeley, Colo., establishment is voluntarily expanding its June 24 recall to include approximately 380,000 pounds of assorted beef primal products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

Kristof’s plea for food-policy reform (“Lettuce From the Garden, With Worms,” column, June 21). Though factory-style production worsens it, the root problem is animal use.

    As a result of three London children being diagnosed with E coli infections within five days, the Middlesex-London Health Unit advised the public today to avoid eating any ground beef or spiced ground beef (kofta) purchased from an independent food store on Wonderland Road.

    Schenectady (WSYR-TV) - Price Chopper has announced a meat recall after the store says the products may have been contaminated with E. coli. The recall includes select varieties of ground beef and beef loin bottom sirloin steaks.

    I know I sound a bit like a broken record asking yet another company to step up and admit they have a problem, pay the victims’ medical bills and lost wages, and then focus on how the problem happened and how to prevent it from ever happening again.
