    What better way to celebrate World Cat Day on Feb. 17 (tomorrow, who knew?) than to suggest recipes to prepare the other white meat for deliciousness. ANSA.it is reporting that the co-host of a popular Italian daytime cooking show was suspended on Monday for extolling the delights of cat meat during an episode last week.

    A south-west Queensland grazier has been fined for animal cruelty after trucking cattle that were not fit to be moved. Biosecurity Queensland says the cattle were discovered at a Beenleigh abattoir and were suffering advanced stages of lumpy jaw, which affects the face and bones causing abscesses and deformation.

    The New York Racing Association said it would bar any owner or trainer from competing at its racetracks if any of their horses were sold for slaughter. It also urged horsemen who are part of what is widely considered the premier racing circuit in the nation to support rescue and adoption efforts and to find humane ways of dealing with horses that are unable to continue racing.
