    KENT COUNTY, Mich. (WZZM)- There's new information about an apparent case of food poisoning at the Kent County Jail. Hundreds of inmates became sick earlier this month with a stomach-type illness.

    Food safety bosses are planning a major hygiene blitz on poultry farms in a bid to cut levels of a nasty food-poisoning bug found in chickens. The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) hopes to reduce cases of the campylobacter bacteria by visiting chicken farms around the country and introducing new health initiatives.

    MUMBAI -- As many as 148 people took ill on Saturday night after consuming food at awedding reception. Many of the people who attended the wedding at Bharat Nagar inBandra-Kurla Complex, started vomiting and suffered from diarrhoea in the wee hours of Sunday. The patients had to be rushed to Bhabha Hospital in Bandra. The caterer, Yusuf Ahmed Ali, has been arrested.

    Some restaurants around the country will be closed in the weeks ahead following a spot inspection by the Ministry of Health's Food Safety Unit enforcers last week. Senior health officer and unit head Samuela Bolalailai said "a lot" of restaurants in Suva should have been shut down already for failing to adhere to the guidelines provided in the Food Safety Act 2003.
