INDIANAPOLIS -- A summer committee will study whether Indiana should allow the sale of raw, unpasteurized milk for human consumption under legislation a Senate committee passed Monday. In the mean time, House Bill 1129 would impose stricter requirements on raw milk sold as pet food. Farmers would be required to prominently label that milk as “not for human consumption.”

Bhim can't understand what he's done wrong. Before dawn every day he joins hundreds of wholesale traders at Delhi's Azadpur Mandi, a sprawling, chaotic market where trucks blare Bollywood music, porters haul huge brown sacks of fruit and vegetables and hawkers ply tea and cigarettes. His own trade is in rosy red apples, laced with calcium carbide.

Upon arriving in Abu Dhabi, I did what I always do when temporarily unbound from the responsibilities of family and out on the prowl: I had a nap; and then went grocery shopping. The Hypermarket is next door to the hotel, so I wandered around at 11 p.m. The place was bustling with young families, singles, and endless staff obsessed with cleaning. That seemed like a good sign.

Magic glove syndrome, the phenomenon where food service workers think they are immune to cross-contamination because they're wearing protective gloves, is rampant on reality TV. Even our own butcher here in Brisbane touches everything from raw meat to money with his gloves on. YAKIMA -- For the salads that Don Copp sells at seven Papa Murphy's stores in the Yakima Valley, he opts to purchase romaine hearts and cut and clean them in-house.
