    As of June 20, 2011, a total of 21 ill people infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Panama have been reported from Arizona (1), California (2), Colorado (1), Maryland (1), Montana (1), Nevada (1), Oregon (6), Pennsylvania (1), Texas (1), Utah (1) and Washington (5). There have been no new case reports since April 22, 2011.

    GERMANY has reported another death in Europe's E. coli outbreak - bringing the total to 44. The national disease control centre said today that 43 deaths have now been reported in Germany, the outbreak's epicentre. One person has died in Sweden. Although the death toll is still rising, the number of new infections has declined significantly over the past two weeks.
