    In 2009 an outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 at the Llay Fish Bar in Wrexham, U.K., left nine people seriously ill, including young mother Karen Morrisroe (right) who almost died when she caught the bug and complications set in. She spent seven weeks in an induced coma as staff at Wrexham Maelor Hospital battled to save her life.

    BOISE -- Around 60,000 cantaloupe sold at Costco stores in Idaho and other states in the west have been recalled because of possible salmonella contamination.  Now, newlyweds Taylor and Kyle Walker say they've got enough information to believe now-recalled cantaloupe served at their reception is what caused more than 40 of their wedding guests to get very sick.

    Food service operations recently inspected by the Environmental Health Division of the Jackson County Public Works Department with three or more critical violations included: •El Maguey Mexican Restaurant, 800 S.W. Sunset Ave., Blue Springs, had four critical violations during a March 10 inspection. They included: Rice on the cook’s line was held at unsafe temperatures.

    Las Vegas, NV -- Roaches and equipment in disrepair land a valley restaurant in hot water with the Southern Nevada Health District. Thai Wasabi, located on West Sahara near Tenaya Way, serves Asian cuisine such as Thai, Chinese, and a full sushi bar. But during a recent visit by the health district, the eatery was slapped with 36 demerits and a "C" grade.

    Adelaide Now reports that 28 people carrying cryptosporidium may have infected public pools, but South Australia Health has issued no public warning. Between January and March, SA Health was notified of 28 cases of cryptosporidium where the person reported swimming at a public pool.

    Kamonyi -- Two pupils from Mukinga Primary School in Kamonyi District, died of suspected food poisoning while over 200 were hospitalized. According to school authorities, most of those hospitalized have so far been discharged. About 20 remain in hospital.

    Chilled foods company Dairy Crest has recalled a batch of milkshakes because of a health scare. The firm advised shoppers who bought 500ml bottles of its strawberry Frijj milkshake with a use by date of April 5 to contact it for a refund. The drinks may contain "a low level of listeria monocytogenes" - bacteria which cause listeriosis.

    CORPUS CHRISTI -- An Annaville favorite tops this week's Kitchen Cops report. Land and Sea in the 9000 block of Leopard Street earned a perfect score with the inspector.
