    DENVER -- The Colorado Department of Health is warning the public to either avoid eating or thoroughly cook ground beef to avoid illness. The department reports 21 cases of salmonella have broken out in the state. Most of the people became sick in the end of June or the beginning of July, said Mark Salley, spokesman for the Colorado Department of Health.

    ZANESVILLE -- The Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department is continuing to wait on results from testing of individuals who may have transmitted shigella. Health officials are investigating a shigella outbreak after two young children who attend Rufus Putnam Daycare tested positive for the infectious disease. One is a 2-year-old girl and the other is a 3-year-old girl.

Rhino Foods on Hampton Ave. had an accumulation of dust and dirt on the ceiling, the vents and the beams in the food preparation area, according to inspection records from mid-July.
