Beginning Monday, residents of Branford, North Branford and Guilford will have some new tools available when it comes to choosing a place to eat out and safeguarding their health and that of their families.
The East Shore District Health Department will post the results of its restaurant inspections online at the department’s Web site, www.ESDHD.org.
“This gives the public an opportunity to access snapshot information on local restaurants in Branford, East Haven and North Branford,” said Health Director Jim Monopoli of the East Shore District Health Department.
The move to post the inspection ratings online resulted from a recent unanimous decision by the district’s Board of Health, Monopoli said.
The information can be viewed by going to www.ESDHD.org, opening the “Environmental Health” tab and then opening the “Food Service Inspections” page, he said.
Online posting of inspection reports is a service provided “to better inform the public of the health inspection status of licensed food facilities in our district,” Monopoli said.
