A Vietnamese suspected of vibrio cholera from the northern province of Ninh Binh died on May 18, according to the Preventive Medicine and Environment Department under the Ministry of Health.
Samples taken from the patient tested positive for vibrio cholera at the Central Hygiene and Epidemiology Institute.
The Preventive Medicine and Environment Department has asked the Ninh Binh province’s Preventive Medicine Centre to disinfect the affected areas and sent a delegation to the province to investigate the reason for the death. The department said Ha Nam and Hoa Binh provinces also reported cases of acute diarrhoea due to vibrio cholera.
