Over 83 students were admitted to hospital with symptoms of food poisoning on Monday.
More than 148 students of the Vetangudi Panchayat Union Middle School at Vembadi near Kollodam in Sirkazhi were served the noon meal.
The students who developed vomiting and nausea were immediately rushed to the Sirkazhi government hospital. They are out of danger.
