Rajkot -- Atleast 100 people fell ill due to suspected food poisoning after consuming meals at a religious function in Chotila town of Surendranagar district in Gujarat, police said today. The incident took place last night when 1000 people ate food at the programme arranged by one Vijay Soni. Nearly 100 people complained of vomiting and diarrhea after eating Basundi (milk sweet) and ice-cream, they said. Those affected were rushed to Chotila civil hospital and their condition is stable now. A five-year-old girl was however referred to Rajkot civil hospital for further treatment after her condition deteriorated, police added. Further investigations are on.
