SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- A wholesale produce company based in Sacramento is working to fix 11 food safety violations identified as the result of a KCRA 3 report.
The California Department of Public Health inspected Sun Sen Co. on Commerce Circle in response to a KCRA 3 report which revealed the company had hazardous materials stored outside its food facility.
The May 2011 inspection report said Sun Sen Co. failed to keep its food and facility in a "clean and sanitary condition," that may, "constitute an attractant breeding place and area for pest harborage."
Sun Sen Co. uses the facility to package raw vegetables that go to companies in Northern California and Nevada.
The company is now working to fix those violations. Edwin Wong, who runs the facility, said he has corrected the violations.
