CORPUS CHRISTI -- An Annaville favorite tops this week's Kitchen Cops report. Land and Sea in the 9000 block of Leopard Street earned a perfect score with the inspector.
However, Rosie's Tamales at 4838 Ayers received a 94, after the inspector found no towels at the hand washing sink, and the refrigerator did not have a thermometer.
Topping the B-List is the Jack In The Box at 3155 S. Padre Island Drive. The inspector noted the cooked eggs were too cold, employees were not washing their hands properly, employees were not wearing effective hair restraints, food was being stored on floor, and some equipment was dirty. The business received a score of 84.
The La Playa restaurant at 4201 Weber received a score of 81 this week for meat being improperly thawed, some food was unlabeled, the inspecor could not find any thermometers, and the can opener was dirty.
Over at Ophraka's at 429 Schatzell the inspector found food unlabeled, food uncovered, no food handler's permit, no thermometers, hand washing sinks un-accessible, rodent droppings on top of the dishwasher. The restaurant earned this week's low score at 80.
