Health officials are once again warning Utahns about spreading germs at public pools and water parks.
Officials are concerned about an outbreak of cryptosporidiosis — or crypto. Crypto causes severe diarrhea and can last for two weeks or more.
In 2007 there was a crypto outbreak in Salt Lake County that caused several public pools to close and sickened hundreds of people after they swam in pools contaminated with human feces. About 1,900 people became infected statewide.
So far this year there have been 21 cases of crypto reported in Utah.
