Pollos Asados on North Raguet received 24 demerits. They need to repair the ceiling in the front area. There was no current food manager certification. They need to clean the microwave, the surface in the bus cooler. Protective shields are required on the lights in the bus area and the vent needs to be cleaned. They must remove the household cooler. The water supply needs to be repaired immediately. They need to use sanitizer test strips, keep the rinse/sanitize compartment sanitary. The ice scoop must have a handle. The prep table needs to be cleaned. And they must post a current valid permit.
Brooks Grocery and Pizza Pro was handed 20 demerits. The cold hold must remain below forty five degrees. The hot hold must remain greater than one hundred thirty five degrees while in use. They must discard expired food items, remove damaged and molded ceiling tiles, replace the tiles, and seal the crack in the back wall (this is a repeat violation). The rinse compartment was found unsanitary. They need to sanitize the inside of the ice machine.
McDonalds in Wal-Mart on Daniel McCall received 15 demerits. All employees must obtain food handlers certificates within thirty days of employment. They need to clean under the shelves in the dry storage area, clean behind the tea and fountain drink machine, and the fountain drink nozzles. They also must store the ice scoop properly and must have HACCP date and time at the prep table.
Jack in the Box on Denman got 15 demerits. All employees need to obtain food handlers certificates within thirty days of employment. They need to clean the vent hoods and inside the walk in freezer. The also need to clean the front of the grill, and under the grill where standing grease was found. The Ice machine and microwave also needs cleaning. They must not store food items on the freezer floor where frozen French fries were found. Also, they need to repair the door to the ice machine.
Golden Corral was given 13 demerits. The tuna salad and seafood salad was found at improper temperatures. They must keep employee drinks out of the food prep cooler, and they need to clean the outside of the freezer doors and also keep the carts clean.
Baymont Seafood on First Street received 11 demerits. They were found thawing the fish improperly; they must have cold running water continuously while thawing. Employee drink and mail was found in the food prep area. Food was found stored on the floor in freezer. They need to clean hand wash sink in the kitchen, clean the vent hood, and clean the shelves in the walk in cooler. No food manager was on site; all employees must obtain Food Handlers Certificates within thirty days of employment. They must store dry food scoop properly, with the handle up. Inspectors will follow up on food handlers cards in thirty days, and on food manager card in fourteen days.
Southland Health Care was handed 10 demerits. They need to use food grade containers only when storing food items. They need to keep the facility and equipment sanitary, rinse and sanitize compartments, repair the leak, clean the vent above the ware washer and sanitize the inside of the ice machine.
Brookshire Brothers #25 Deli on West Frank Street got 9 demerits. The cold hold must remain below forty five degrees. All employees must obtain food handlers certificates within thirty days of employment; inspectors will follow up on this violation in thirty days.
Café Memorial on Frank Street received 8 demerits. They need to decrease the temperature at the prepared salads. Inspectors found a spatula and a rag in the hand wash sink (they must keep items out of hand wash sink). They must clean behind the grill in the kitchen. And Employees must have food handler's certificates within thirty days of employment.
Polk's #20 Deli & Grocery on East Denman was handed 7 demerits. Single serving items stored on the floor under the slush machine must be moved. They need to clean under the slush machine and clean under the shelves in the freezer. They must store the ice scoop properly, with the handle up.
Gammi's Pizza on Highway 147 in Zavalla received 5 demerits. They need to increase the temperature at the hot hold.
Chili's was handed 4 demerits. They need to clean under the prep tables at the bar and kitchen area. All employees must have food handler's certification within thirty days of employment.
Massingill's Market on Highway 69 got 4 demerits. The date and time is needed on the HACCP plans. They also need to cover the meat products.
Dee Dee Donuts on Timberland was given 4 demerits. They must have the time and date on food items.
Brookshire Brothers #25 Bakery on West Frank received 4 demerits. They need to clean the air vents, and all employees must obtain Food Handlers Certificates within thirty days of employment.
Brookshire Brothers #25 Grocery/Produce was handed 3 demerits. They need to remove dented cans from the shelves and paper towels are required in the restrooms.
The Donut Palace on Temple received 3 demerits. They need to clean the floor and discard the cardboard scoop handle in the bulk food item.
