The death toll from a case of mass poisoning involving home-brewed alcohol at a party in the western Indian state of Gujarat has jumped to 86, the Press Trust of India (PTI) reports.
Police in Ahmedabad, the state's largest city, told PTI on Thursday the number had risen by 61 from Wednesday's initial reported toll of 25. More than 100 others were being treated in hospital.
The victims had drunk the contaminated liquor at a party on Sunday.
